1. The breeding tract of this breed is Nagpur, Akola and Amrawati districts of Maharashtra.
2. These are black coloured animal with white patches on face, legs and tail.
3. This is also called as Elitchpuri or Barari.
4. The horns are long, flat and curved, bending backward on each side of the back almost to shoulder (sward shaped horns).
5. Horns of this type have a distinct advantage that they help the animals to protect themselves from wild animals and also easy to move in the forest.
6. The face is long and thin. The neck is somewhat long.
7. The average milk yield is 700-1200 kg per lactation.
8. The age at first calving is 45-50 months with an inter-calving period of 450-550 days.

नागपुरी / एलिचपुरी

1. या जातीचे मूळस्थान महाराष्ट्रातील नागपूर, अकोला आणि अमरावती जिल्हे आहेत.
2. शरिर काळ्या रंगाचा असून चेहरा, पाय आणि शेपटीवर पांढरे ठिपके असतात.
3. या जातीला एलिचपुरी किंवा बेरारी या नावानेही ओळखतात.
4. शिंगे लांब, सपाट आणि वक्र असतात, ती मागच्या बाजूला जवळजवळ खांद्यापर्यंत वाकलेली असतात (तलवारी आकाराची शिंगे).
5. या प्रकारच्या शिंगांचा एक विशिष्ट फायदा असा की, जंगली प्राण्यांपासून स्वतःचे संरक्षण करण्यास मदत करतात आणि जंगलात फिरण्यास देखील सोपे असतात.
6. चेहरा लांब आणि पातळ आहे. मान काहीशी लांब आहे.
7. सरासरी दुधाचे उत्पादन ७००-१२०० किलो प्रति वेत असते.
8. पहिले विण्याचे वय ४५-५० महिने असते आणि आंतर विण्याचा कालावधी ४५०-५५० दिवसांचा असतो.
