- In India this breed has acclimatized well and is widely used in cross breeding with indigenous cows.
- The typical colour of Jersey cattle is reddish fawn.
- Dished fore head and compact and angular body.
- These are economical producers of milk with 4.5% fat.
- Average milk yield is 4500 kg per lactation.

- उगमस्थान इंग्लंडमधील ‘जर्सी’ बेट.
- ही दुधाळू गायच्या जातीमधील सर्वात लहान जात आहे.
- भारतात ही जात चांगली जुळून आली आणि देशी गायींसह संकरित प्रजननासाठी मोठ्या प्रमाणावर वापरली जाते.
- जर्सी जातीचा विशिष्ट रंग लालसर असतो.
- पसरट कपाळ, मध्यम आकार आणि भरिव शरिर.
- दुधात फॅटचे प्रमाण ४.५% असल्याने किफायतशीर दुध उत्पादक आहेत.
- सरासरी दूध उत्पादन ४५०० किलो प्रति वेत आहे.
