• Originated from black cotton soil of the water shed of the river Krishna in Karnataka and also found in border districts of Maharashtra.
• Animals are large, having a massive frame with deep, loosely built short body.
• Tail almost reaches the ground.
• Common colour grey white with a darker shade on fore quarters and hind quarters in male. Adult females are more whitish in appearance.
• The bullocks of this breed are powerful animals useful for slow ploughing, and valued for their good working qualities.
• The cows are fair milkers, average yield being about 900 kg per lactation.
• This is a heavy draught breed and used exclusively in the black cotton soil of the watershed of river Krishna.

कृष्णा व्हॅली

• कर्नाटकातील कृष्णा नदीच्या खोऱ्यात आणि महाराष्ट्राच्या सीमावर्ती जिल्ह्यांमध्ये देखील आढळते.
• प्राणी मोठे असतात, सैल आणि भरिव शरिराची बांधणी असते.
• शेपटी लांब असून जवळजवळ जमिनीवर पोहोचते.
• सामान्य रंग राखाडी पांढरा, ज्यात बैलांचा पुढील चतुर्थांश आणि मागील भागांवर गडद सावली असते. गायी दिसायला जास्त पांढऱ्या असतात.
• या जातीचे बैल हे शक्तिशाली प्राणी आहेत, जे नांगरणीसाठी उपयुक्त आहेत. म्हणूनचं शेत कामाकरिता ते मोलाचे आहे.
• गायी मुबलक दूध देणाऱ्या आहेत, सरासरी दुग्ध उत्पादन सुमारे ९०० किलो प्रति वेत आहे.
• ही जडकाम करिता जात आहे, जी कृष्णा नदीच्या खोऱ्याचा काळ्या कापसाच्या मातीत उपयुक्त ठरते.
